What We Believe

Worship

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Scripture allows us to see the pattern set forth by God and how He would have His people to act. As His people, we are part of the body of Christ. Christ is the purchaser of the church; we believe that He is the head of the body (Colossians 1:18). Since that is the case, we believe that we must look to Scripture to dictate our Christian worship (Colossians 3:17). For this reason, we partake of the Lord's Supper every Sunday (Acts 20:7), we only use a cappella music (Ephesians 5:19), along with prayers, songs, and sermons being led by men of congregation. We strive to worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24) and in every aspect of our lives to live how God would have us to live. (Titus 2:11-12). Love is the driving force for New Testament Christian (John 13:33-34) and just as God has loved us (John 3:16), we love others.

God

We believe there is only one God (John 17:3) and that He is the creator of the world (Genesis 1:1). God exists in three distinct personalities: God the Father (2 Corinthians 13:14), God the Son (John 1:1), and God the Holy Spirit (John 16:12-15).

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God: that He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18), lived a sinless life (2 Corinthians 8:9), was crucified on a cross (Philippians 2:8), was resurrected three days later (1 Corinthians 15:4) and ascended to the Father and is ruling (Acts 1:9, 1 Corinthians 15:25). We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and that He is the only way to heaven. He has redeemed us with His precious blood (1 Peter 1:18-19) and one day He will return to call His people (the church) home (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Salvation

God sent His only Son so that we may have the opportunity of salvation. Christ is our perfect sacrifice that was offered once for all (Hebrews 7:27). Through His sacrifice, we are now able to come before God because Christ is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 9:15). We have the choice to accept or refuse God's gift of salvation and we do that through obedient faith (James 2:22).

• We must hear the gospel (Romans 10:17).
• We must believe (John 8:24).
• We must repent of our sins (Acts 2:38).
• We must confess with our mouths (Romans 10:9-10).
• We must be baptized (Acts 22:16).
• We must remain faithful (Revelation 2:10).

Once we are baptized into the body of Christ, we have all spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3) and we must continue to strive to live that faithful life.
